Celebrated soulful musician Zoë Modiga whose SAMA nominated, awarding winning album "Yellow : The Novel", is doing very well, is hosting a celebration of "Yellow : The Novel" journey at the AfroBru venue in Maboneng on Thursday 25th October. Zoë's shows have become very popular, pulling hundreds of audiences to witness this songstress' musical prowess.
This award-winning muso has successfully made a mark in the industry as an independent artist.
Zoë was born Palesa Nomthandazo Phumelele Modiga in Overport, Durban and raised in Pietermaritzburg. The music bug hit her very early in her life, she enrolled at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg, studying Classical Piano, clarinet and vocals. She later studied Jazz Vocals at the South Africa College of Music at UCT.
Zoë has performed at a number of big festivals which include Rocking The Daisies, Oppikoppi, Arts Cape Youth Jazz Festival and the Cape Town International Jazz Festival among many others. Zoë has shared the stage with the likes of Lira, Johnny Clegg, Simphiwe Dana, Thandiswa, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and the Soweto Gospel Choir among other musical greats.
Extremely talented, flawless in her delivery, a transcendent performer with a distinct and refreshing brand identity, Zoë is a dynamic force, a multifaceted one and a message of human experience for the times. She has also positioned herself as a style icon with her consistent Yellow themed brand.
Tickets to the Thursday show are available for R150 at the door, doors open from 18:30. Food and drinks will be served.
