Tshepang Ramoba to Release Solo EP "Sello" on June 28

Tshepang Ramoba, the dynamic musician renowned for his role in the band BLK JKS, is set to release his highly anticipated solo EP, "Sello," on June 28, 2024. "Sello," which translates to "a cry" in Sepedi, is a deeply personal and emotive project that reflects Ramoba's roots and innovative musical style.

The title of the EP carries a dual significance, denoting both an emotional outpouring and paying homage to the late Sello Montwedi, the esteemed drummer of the legendary band Sankomota. This tribute encapsulates the spirit of the EP, intertwining themes of personal and collective history with Ramoba's contemporary musical explorations.

Starting June 7, 2024, Tshepang Ramoba will release a song from the EP each week, culminating in the full EP's availability on June 28. Each song release will be accompanied by a short video of Ramoba performing, providing fans with an intimate and engaging visual experience. On the final release day, a short film detailing the creation and inspiration behind "Sello" will be unveiled, offering deeper insights into the project.

The track release dates are as follows: June 7 for the first song, June 14 for the second song, June 21 for the third song, and June 28 for the fourth song and full EP. The short film will also premiere on June 28.

"Sello" blends traditional Sepedi sounds with urban musical elements, creating a unique and compelling listening experience. The EP features a fusion of Kiba and Dinaka music, traditional styles from Limpopo, with modern instrumentation and electronic elements. This synthesis honors Ramoba’s heritage while pushing the boundaries of contemporary music.

Ramoba shared, "'Sello' is a journey through emotion, memory, and innovation. It's a tribute to the great Sello Montwedi and a reflection of my own experiences. I wanted to create something that resonates deeply on a personal level but also speaks to the universal themes of pain, joy, and resilience. I’m excited to share this journey with my fans, one song at a time, leading up to the full release and short film.”

The EP "Sello" will be available on all major digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud. The short film will premiere on YouTube and be heavily promoted across social media channels.
