Sampa The Great - Jozi

Following her first European headline tour and supporting Joey Bada$$ on his All Amerikkkan Bada$$ tour, Sampa the Great released her second album Birds and The BEE9 with Ninja Tune’s sister label Big Dada. It garnered attention from Gilles Peterson (BBC6), Annie Mac (Radio 1), Clash, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, triple j, and landing coveted feature album spots across community radio stations across the board, it’s no wonder Sampa The Great was awarded with the Australian Music Prize award for 2017.

J. Bobs is an established artist who is known for his popular sketches and a style that allows him to experiment with material that is not mainstream. His new and exciting multi-disciplinary work will showcase a new cultural wave of interactive theatre that is intended to inspire a new generation of artists.

uNosilimela

In 1971 Vusamazulu Credo Mutwa introduced the people of Soweto to uNosilimela. The play was first performed on a stoep, outside Mutwa’s Diepskloof house. Mutwa turned had his matchbox house into a theatre on Saturdays. The children's room was cleared for actors and props.

Today the continent so rich of culture and heritage, having gone through its fair share of bondage that led to this historic occasion still sees many countries participating in the various festivities to mark this day.

Nakambe

The narrative sees a king who finds himself in a “predicament” wherein his wife bores him a daughter instead of a son and heir. All of this pits him against forces who refuse to be led by a female within his own ranks and subjects.
