The Schizophrenia of Being a Christian Bible-Thumping Feminist'

The Schizophrenia of Being a Christian Bible-Thumping Feminist'

This is an excerpt from the manuscript of the unpublished book, Unshackle - Stepping On Toes: A Case For The Reorientation of Afrikan Consciousness by Itumeleng Makale.

Listen to one of the so-called early Church Fathers, Tertullian: “You [woman] are the devil’s gateway: you are the unsealer of that (forbidden) tree: you are the first deserter of the divine law: you are she who persuaded him whom the devil was not valiant enough to attack. You destroyed so easily God’s image, man. On account of your desert—that is, death—even the Son of God had to die.”

Or take it from reformer John Calvin: “Woman is guiltier than man, because she was seduced by Satan, and so diverted her husband from obedience to God that she was an instrument of death leading to all perdition. It is necessary that woman recognize this, and that she learn to what she is subjected; and not only against her husband. This is reason enough why today she is placed below and that she bears within her ignominy and shame.”

Both Tertullian, a respected Catholic theologian, and Calvin, a leader of the Protestant Reformation, took their cues on this matter straight from the book of Genesis:

“To the woman [God] said, I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labour you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” -Genesis 3:16

Can any Bible thumping Christian Liberation Theology adherent or a Women's Liberationist offer exegesis on the scripture below?

Hating Patriarchy but immersing yourself hilariously into a belief in a patriarchal and misogynistic sky daddy deity really renders your sanity questionable...

"...and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee"
- Gen 3:16 (KJV)

Grown ass Afrikan men walk around in their clown suits calling themselves John Wesley's Boys, 'Amadodana Ase-Weseli'. Afrikan men naming themselves after this white misogynistic anti-women peckerwood and a beast called John Wesley, and you expect to see men in our communities growing to be better men respecting as equals, loving and taking care of Afrikan women???

I beg your pardon...!

"Do not any longer contend for mastery, for power, money, or praise. Be content to be a private, insignificant person, known and loved by God and me... of what importance is your character to mankind, if you were buried just now or if you had never lived, what loss would it be to the cause of God". –John Wesley, founder of Methodist movement (1703-1791): letter to his wife, July 15, 1774

These filthy crackers' names should not be part of anything we identify ourselves with...!!!

To the Bible believing Feminists

Your misogynistic slave manual called the Bible teaches that I can sell my daughter as a sex slave. Your misogynistic slave manual teaches that a woman (doesn't say a wife) is not permitted to teach or have authority over a man for a man was created first and then a woman after, and further that it's a woman, and not a man, who was deceived and became a sinner. Your misogynistic slave manual further says the only way for you to attain salvation is through child-bearing. God of the bible gives the Israelite warriors a right to keep virgin girls of whatever nation the Israelites have defeated at war, as spoils of war to pleasure themselves with, sexually.

"As in all congregations of the saints, women are not allowed to speak in church....it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in church..." says your bible!

A woman who, in defence of her husband, grasps her husband's assailant by testicles, her hand must be cut off, according to the bible...

The bible must be extremely high on misogynistic nyaope!

Kindly explain your silence as christian/Bible-centred feminists!

How is an Afrikan woman smitten to bow down to the misogynistic Bible depiction of a woman as the originator of sin, when she descended from ancestors who, in the Sacred Writings they wrote in stone, long before there was any Bible story of Eve, depicted an Afrikan woman as the source of Divine Knowledge in a form of the Goddess Seshat? The Bible has demonised your greatness, Sisters.

- The Bible says it's a disgrace for you to speak in an assembly. (1 Corinthians 14:34-35)

- The Bible says you are not permitted to teach or have authority over a man because sin entered into the world through you. (1 Timothy 2:12-)

- The Bible says you will only be saved through child-bearing. (1 Timothy 2:15)

- The Bible calls women defilers of men. (Revelation 14:4)

On The A-Contextual Nature of Black Mental Health

Dealing with Black "mental" health a-contextually i.e. with no sensitive regard to Black psychohistory, by allopathic western medicine (not that I expect it to do otherwise), can arguably be acceleratory and aggravating factors to the condition in issue. We have a peculiar psychohistory and, as a result, the psychodynamics around our mental health cannot be properly dissected without a proper primary frame of reference.

Consciousness in Black/Afrikan Consciousness

Consciousness in Black/Afrikan Consciousness

Lack of self-concept is part and parcel of the disorientation of the Afrikan Consciousness. This is exemplified in, for instance, directionless libidinal argumentation that debates who is Black? Who is an African? Whether Indians are Black etc. If you do not know who you are you will often project this type of self-second guessing.
